Who the hell are you anyway?
I love food in that unnatural way that some people do. I love eating it, making it, thinking about it, talking about it, blogging about it.. it's a fundamental part of who I am.
I'm in my twenties, but because I'm Chinese, I could pass for 14 or 43. I have a day job, but go to school at night at Boston University, where I am getting a master of liberal arts in gastronomy. I live in Boston with my boyfriend who likes to eat adventurously and doesn't mind doing dishes, which works out well for us.
I was born in NYC and raised in NYC, Long Island, NY, Spokane, WA, and Hong Kong. In addition to those places, I've lived in San Francisco and Boston.
I travel often and generally plan my travels around food. I love street food in Taiwan, dim sum in Hong Kong, pho in San Francisco, sushi and fish tacos in Boston.
I'm not much of a food snob, but I try to avoid using processed foods. However, I have no probably eating processed food out of my house. I love dumplings. I love McDonalds. I love noodles. I love roast lamb and Yorkshire pudding.
I love fried chicken.
The best three meals I've had (so far) in order:
- ad hoc (Napa, CA) -- cucumber soup, chicken salad sandwiches, waffles rancheros, pork belly and black beans, flan
- French Laundry (Napa, CA) -- too many courses to mention, including perfectly seared wagyu steak
- Masa's (San Francisco, CA) -- clean, straight-forward, properly-cooked and perfectly seasoned food, the lobster bisque amuse bouche was trancendent
